Freesia is the flower of friendship. It actually got it’s name back in the early 19th century when the botanist that identified the flower in South Africa, Christian P. Ecklon, named it after his friend, Friedrich H.T. Freese, also a botanist, as a symbol of their friendship.
So it’s no wonder that this wonderful blossom is often featured in flower tattoos, symbolizing friendship, trust and selflessness, frequently used as a wedding flower. And that’s how it ended up in this tattoo, inspired by the client’s mother’s wedding bouquet.
